The Russell-Cotes Art Gallery & Museum, Bournemouth, UK
A wonderful source of inspiration. If you've never seen this amazing house, you have to go there.
San Francisco Museum of Modern Art
I spent a whole day here, and never wanted to leave. I adored Baziotes' painting 'Serpentine'.
Judy Olausen
Some years ago I came across Judy Olausen's book 'Mother'. I thought it was the most hilarious thing I'd seen, and I bought it at once. I still think it's brilliant. It also made me realise that as a photographer you can develop a concept which is meaningful to you personally, set the whole thing up and see it through, even if nobody's ever done anything like it before.
Tim Flach
Wow! Look at his portfolio: I love the bats and #13.
Kaffe Fassett
For several years in the 1980's I was obsessed with buying up balls of different coloured wool and using as many as possible in one jacket after another, following Kaffe's method and adapting his designs. If, as an artist, you want to develop your colour eye, his book 'Glorious Knitting' will do it for you. He has written lots of other books, designs patchwork fabrics and is a great speaker, amongst other things.
