(It's no longer on display but I was privileged to see it privately this year, and it's not quite how I remember it.) My childhood memories of a dress in the painting are the reason that I took the set of pictures this comes from; but this was by far my favourite image of the set, and I printed it, named it and lived with it for the next two days, wondering what connection I was making with it. I woke up one morning thinking, "It's a Picasso!", and I set about finding which one. It turned out to be 'Two Women Running On the Beach'. I aimed for an angular, Art Deco-ish feel, and imagined I was producing designs for fabrics, or for end-papers in books. This is a collage of prints of some of the designs.
